The First International Conference of Good Governance and Legal Issues (ICGGLI-23) will be held in coordination between the College of Administration and Economics and the College of Law and International Relations. The annual conference becomes a platform to discuss contemporary governance, management and legal issues and highlights the changes in modern governance. The governments in the 21st century is facilitating so many challenges both internally and externally and their way of dealing with the issues has changed; simultaneously, citizens have increased expectations and demands towards government and expect more services, transparency, and engagement in administrative processes. This conference becomes a podium to identify administrative and legal challenges of governance and find solutions to public issues. The conference mainly concentrates on administration and legal issues and will cover topics related to good governance and legal issues.

The main Purpose of the First International Conference on Good Governance and Legal Issues (ICGGLI-2023) is to embody the principles of good governance in the public sector in order to assist public institutions in improving services, governance systems and reducing corruption, ensuring transparency and public participation. The conference also aims to evaluate the applicable laws in the region and submit recommendation for the amendments of the laws. In this context, the conference aims to highlight the role of the university in the development of legal, administrative and commercial institutions and discuss the contemporary issues and propose principles of modern governance to solve them.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Nabaz Nawzad Abdullah is the current dean of the Administration and Economics college at Lebanese French University, a position he has held since February 2022. Dr. Abdullah completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Politics and International Relations at the University of Kurdistan-Hewler. He later obtained his Master’s and PhD degrees from the Northern University of Malaysia (UUM), where he received a scholarship for his outstanding academic performance.
Dr. Abdullah’s career includes serving as the Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation at Knowledge University for 2 years and head of the Business Administration Department at Lebanese French University for 2 years. He has participated in numerous leadership and development training programs and international conferences in Russia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, UAE, and Finland.
Dr. Abdullah is an accomplished researcher with more than 17 publications and research papers, primarily published in international journals indexed by Scopus and Clarivate Analytics. Additionally, he is a member of the Pedagogy team and actively trains teacher students in various universities throughout the Kurdistan Region. Dr. Abdullah is also the coordinator of the EduPreneurship Module of the Pedagogy Program, demonstrating his passion for education and leadership.

Prof. Dr. Sangar Daud – Salahaddin University
Dr. Sangar Dawood Mohammed is a renowned Professor of Law and Politics, with a passion for environmental protection. He was born in Iraq and holds a Ph.D. in Law from Salahaddin University. Dr. Mohammed has been a member of the teaching staff at the Department of Law at the Faculty of Law and Politics at the University of Salahaddin, Erbil, Iraq, since 2004.
In addition to his academic career, Dr. Mohammed has served in various capacities in organizations dedicated to promoting environmental protection and civil rights. He has served as Director of the Legal Clinic at the College of Law and Politics at Salahaddin University, Erbil, Iraq, and worked as a legal consultant for the magazine "Environment and Life" issued by the Ministry of Environment in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Dr. Mohammed has also contributed to the committee drafting a bill to protect and improve the environment in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, which is currently in force as the Law of Protect and Improve the Environment in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Dr. Mohammed is a prolific author and has published two books on environmental law, "The Administrative Control for Protecting the Environment in Iraqi and Egyptian Code: Analytical and Comparative Study" and "International Lawful Organizing for Protection of Environment from Pollution: A Legally Analytical Study," both published by Dar el-Shattat, Cairo, Egypt, in 2012.
Dr. Mohammed is fluent in Kurdish, English, and Arabic, and has attended several training sessions on environmental laws, problem-solving, and new locations. He is an active member of Protecting Civil Rights Association, Kurdistan and Britain relationship association, and has interests in football, reading, walking, and travelling.

Dr. Marianna Charountaki - is a Senior Lecturer in International Politics at the University of Lincoln (School of Social and Political Sciences). She has acted as Director of the Kurdistan International Studies Unit (2016-2019) at the University of Leicester. She is a BRISMES trustee and convener of the BISA Foreign Policy Working Group. She is Research Fellow at Soran University (Erbil, Iraq) and trustee of the Greek Council for IR. She has worked as consultant at the Iraqi Embassy in Athens (Greece, 2011-2012). Marianna has been researching the Middle Eastern region, in light of IR discipline, but also through extensive field work research (2007 to present). Her research lies at the intersection of IR theories, foreign policy analysis and area studies with an emphasis on the interplay between state and non-state entities. She is the author of the books The Kurds and US Foreign Policy: International Relations in the Middle East since 1945, (Routledge, 2011) and Iran and Turkey: International and Regional Engagement in the Middle East (I.B. Tauris,2018). She has published articles in Harvard International Review, Cambridge Review of International Affairs, Third World Quarterly, British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies and others.

Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology ,Tiruchiraplli. Completed M.B.A from University of Madras. Completed Ph. D in Operations Management from Pondicherry University. Possess 34 years experience in teaching M.B.A students at Pondicherry University. Worked for more than two years in Industry as Computer Programmer in Sundaram Motors.
At present , I am focusing on Supply Chain Analytics . Conducting corporate training programs for executives in Industry in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Served as consultant to multinational companies. Visited USA (three times: Chicago , Reno and Washington DC) to participate in International conferences.
